Eye candy

The graphics were fantastic, I love all the activity in the background.

The only advice I can give is this: make the bullets more solid. I had a hard time avoiding the enemy fire, simply because I did not see it. Especially the first boss', firing blue bullets on a blue background, ouch. I think this simple change will make the game much more playable.

In other news, great job, keep up the good work.

Finally beat the stupid thing.

While I did enjoy this game, there were a couple bugs that really... um... bugged me. Specifically: when a unit is installed or re-enabled, it somethimes fires by itself. Which is really annoying if it misses, especially for units with a long recharge time.

Otherwise, this was a very entertaining game, keep up the good work.

You give me hope for humanity.

I have missed Raiden, I loved that game. You have done it a great honor. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be to make it longer.

Not that bad.

The biggest complaint I have graphics -wise were the explosions. The line type explosions didn't match the rest of the game's style, and ended up just looking hokey.
Gameplay-wise there were a few things. First, the bounding boxes seemed a little to large. I know I sound like a sore loser, but many projectiles seemed to impact far from their targets. Second, some way of registering an impact would be nice, perhaps the ship should flash, or the bullets have a little splash when they hit. That goes for both the bad guy's and the hero's. It took me a while to realize I was actually damaging the bad guys.
As for the sounds, the music was good, the sound effects were good, just switch the volumes. The sound effects need to be louder, and the music quieter.
In the end, it's not a bad game at all. In fact it could be a really good game.

ill definently take your advice. im planning the sequel right now. it will involve more powerups, enemies, BETTER EXPLOSIONS, and gameplay. thanks for the review. its a great help!

*shrug*

It was alright.
The story was slow, but it is just the begining of a series. The title sequence was spectacular, the music, the timing, the eclipse effect, were all excellent. The rest of the movie was dissapointing after that.
The drawings were very flat. Check out an art book at your local library, look up perspecive. Use shading, set a focal point, play with scaling the scenery.
There is nothing wrong with stick figures. Yours were just hard to differentiate from the background, use a thicker line when you draw them next time, and give them knees and elbows. Anything to add life.
Good luck on your next one.

P.S. why does it say this is a game?

Nomad58 responds:

thanks for the advice, i'll consider it when i start making episode 2 which will see the story kick off with the alien. i can draw better characters it is just longer to do, this was made one friday afternoon in like 3 hours. i will try some new techniques with the stick men, but it is quite difficult to animate them because there is no easy way to move parts when the cross over lines ( i think that makes sense ). i want to start a cartoon with fuller characters soon, a comedy with superheroes so look out for that in the future.

Better title next time, k?

I would have scored it better, but you're a moron. Let the movie speak for itself. It doesn't need stunts to make it here. Your story was hilarious and the animation was pretty good(except for the two guys who weren't the main characters). A little finishing work and a new title, you could really have something here.

I have gone to find myself, if I should return before I get back, please keep me here until I arrive.
